I think there was something about working with aida cloth for that family cross stitch recently that I started looking at the burlap runner on our dining room table and envisioning it as ripe for embroidery, too. That runner had been made from old coffee sacks but I wanted plain burlap for this project so I bought some new, cut it to size, hemmed it with hot pink thread (because why not?) and then threaded three lines of embroidery floss along the sides. I may not be done with it just yet. I kind of want to add a stripe of green, too. Perfect for spring.
