Nom Nom Nom.

I wanted to eat 95 of these muffins shortly after I made them. But the corn chowder was even better. Because every recipe from Cook's Illustrated is inevitably genius, though long-winded, and perfect every single time. And also because bacon effortlessly makes every thing amazing. The muffins weren't from the mag but from a lucky find online. I'm still fighting the urge to fetch a third from the kitchen.

After dinner Nekos and I took turns swinging in the hammock in our backyard while we finished our wine and talked about baby names for our unborn children -- Canon for a boy and Bardot for a girl. I love summer.

my favorite thing about this post? (besides the awesome recipes that i'll be trying out next week) the fact that you're drinking your wine out of a mason jar. that just pulls at my heart strings! (must be my tennessee roots!)

I'm probably going to take my chances and try making both of those recipes this week. They look HEAVENLY. And the names you have are so original and I love them! Terence is ready to be a daddy and we talk about names all the time too ... I told him most definitely not until I am out of grad school in 2-3 years. By then he'll be 30 and is acting like he'll be too ancient for kids! HA men!
