An Inspiration Board.
I made this bulletin board a couple of weeks ago with some fabric and ribbon, and it's since been hanging bare above my desk while I thought about how to use it. This morning I decided not to use it as a repository for bills or invitations or anything that's a drag at all. Instead this is to be the place for all the magazine clippings, poems, photos, and artwork that speak to me. It's my real-life Pinterest. I kind of love that it's above my desk, which is where a lot of dry writing has to get done on a daily basis. I hope it will remind me to keep dreaming, creating, and having fun. Also makes me think of a Picasso quote I saw on a painter friend's Facebook page today: “Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life.” Nice one, Pablo.

Good quote...love it!
I am a new follower and I wanted to say hi! :)
Love the inspiration board, I have been wanting to make one for quite some time now!
Oh and just FYI, I clicked on your blog because of the title- I have an interracial family also! Great title! :)
Lovely! I need something like this to gather all the inspiration images I collect. Right now they are just sitting in a pile next to my bed. They need to be on display!
